Under City Ordinance 2301, minors are prohibited from loitering around public places from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

"Pinapatupad na po itong batas na ito para mabawasan ang mga menor de edad na nakaka-commit ng crimes especially physical injuries 'pag lasing na sila," Police Insp. Winnie Ann Cale said.

And with the said ordinance nine parents were put behind bars in Quezon City after their minor children were found to have violated the curfew ordinance on Friday.

One of the parents named Estella said her 17-year-old was just on his way home when he was spotted by police.

The parents and guardians protested their arrest, saying the implementation of the law was not fair.

"For the first time, lahat kaming nanay na nakulong dito, first time. Sana lang ay bigyan ng patas, hindi ganito. Sa bagong pangulo, sana sa batas, tama," she said.

A man named Mariano said his 11-year-old grandson was just resting when he was seen by police.

Cale said the parents and guardians were detained since there were lapses on their part in watching over their children.
