A photo of President Duterte patiently waiting in line to get his food during a Sunday fellowship dinner in the Malacañang Palace went viral after being shared by the Presidential Communication on its Facebook page.
A certain Lloyd Ismael del Socorro who said he was the man in front of Duterte shared details on why the president was touching his shoulders, he narrated that he offered Pres. Duterte to go ahead of him in the lne but the Pres. refuse and choose to stay at his back.
“I’m the lucky guy in front. I told in the Cebuano dialect to please go ahead. He told me he wouldn’t do that; this is a free country. Then he tapped both of my shoulders to stay on the line, and whoala!” Socorro recalled.
Another viral photograph also showed Duterte happily talking with the chefs and waiters during the event.
Earlier, Duterte was also praised for boarding a commercial flight instead of a private jet, in keeping with his promise to bring simplicity to the halls of Malacañang.
