Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said Ronaldo Espinosa Sr. was now under the custody of De la Rosa.
Abella, however, said Espinosa’s son, Kerwin, was still at large.
On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte demanded the surrender of Espinosa and his son within 24 hours on grounds of drug-trafficking and coddling.
Duterte ordered a “shoot on sight” against the two suspects if they resisted and endangered the lives of arresting authorities.
No other details were provided by the Palace official while the PNP has yet to issue a statement.
