This weekend, Mario Maurer visited the country to promote the tourism in Thailand to his Filipino fans but along with his short visit rumors about his relationship with Cacai Bautista revived.
On August 7, Cacai Bautista responded three heart emojis on a photo posted by ABS-CBN’s content unit head Ian Reyno on Facebook which again ignited the past controversy of having romantically linked to Mario Maurer. The thread between Cacai and Ian continued until the comedian named dropped “Joyce” presuming to Joyce Ramirez, lead publicist of Publicity Asia Worldwide handling Mario Maurer’s endorsement. In this comment, Cacai revealed that she’s not allowed to come close to Mario Maurer by jokingly said
“… eh baka nasa pinto palang ako ng dusit thani itaboy na nila ako. Haha MJ Felipe nako ayaw ni joyce!”
Due to this comment, Joyce Ramirez confirmed the reason why Cacai Bautista was prohibited to visit Mario Maurer during his stay in the country. According to the publicist, Thai agents told on their meeting that they have advised Mario Maurer since 2013 to keep a friendly distance with Cacai Bautista to avoid rumors of having a romantic affair with the comedian.
“Those gossips created are false and we are well aware of the source of such malicious story. That person has since been banned and as I understand security has been tightened around the actor for all official trips to the country. The Thai reps has also kept records of news clips tracked in the Philippines and have consulted with their local partners on how to best manage the negative impact (of the false rumor) on the reputation of the actor,” Joyce stated.
Later, Cacai Bautista reacted on her facebook page and told:
Apat na taon na po akong nanahimik never ko pong naipagtanggol ang sarili ko sa lahat lahat po ng panglalalit na natanggap ko. Hindi ko po alam kung ano po bang nagawa ko sa kanila bakit ganun nalang ang galit nila sa akin. Pero, Sige lang kung ito lang po ang makakapagpasaya sa kanila, Ibibigay ko na po.
