Lately a press release a statement that the meeting between Pres. Duterte and Obama was cancelled due to an insult word given by Pres. Duterte to Obama.

But did Duterte really intend it to be a personal insult against Obama? Well, one netizen, who once worked for ABS-CBN and GMA blamed the brouhaha on the poor translation of Duterte’s exact remark by international media.
In a viral Facebook post on Tuesday, September 6,Ethel Cantor Constantino make stand that Duterte did not curse Obama.
“He was only addressing the Filipinos who are subservient to the USA. Obama was named because a Reuter reporter asked President Duterte if Obama will ask the question,” Constantino stated.
In explaining her opinion, Constantino quoted Duterte’s exact words, verbatim, as: “I am a Pres. of a sovereign state and we have long ceased to be a colony. I do not have any master except the Filipino people. Nobody, but nobody. You must be respectful. Do not just throw away question and statements. P*****g ina- mumurahin talaga kita diyan sa forum.”
That last statement of President was said to be translated incorrect, rather loosely, as: “Son of a w***e, I will curse you in that forum.”
And so Obama became the ‘son of a w***e’ as per media reporting.
But according to Constantino, Duterte never cursed Obama in that remark; contrary to what the media has reported.
“What a big difference there is! If they could not translate and understand tagalog, these international News organization should hire someone credible to do that for them,” she said.
Duterte is known to use the curse word “P—-I” in his many speeches very often; especially when venting out anger or frustration.

Obviously, the expletive was meant to emphasize Duterte’s message that the Philippines, as a sovereign country, can no longer be forced to submit to foreign power, and that it was his passionate means of getting the message across.
