Most people aware that 120/80 is normal blood pressure, and that anything higher than that need a visit to the cardiologist. However, recent discoveries say that this is very wrong.

The ESC Association recently issued new guidelines for blood pressure which say that the new normal is 140 (systolic) over 90 (diastolic). This doesn’t apply to diabetics or the elderly.
In the past, 139/89 was considered high blood pressure, and the person was put on special medications which would reduce their blood pressure and prevent the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
However, this has changed in recent years, so you can safely go about your day without worrying if your blood pressure jumps a bit.
