But sad to hear that some of our hard earned money will just disappear.
An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in India loses P150,000 because of an email hacker.
Oseta Ballena is working as Civil Engineer in Mumbai, India. She said, last July, she asked help from her company to send $3,500 or P150,000 to her son in the Philippines.
But after few days, her son called and informed that he did not receive the money.
Ballena said, when she follow-up the transaction to her company, then, they discovered that the money was sent to a wrong person named "Marilyn Javier."
According to Ballena, the email she was using for banking transaction was hacked and she doesn't know that she is already transacting with a hacker.
According to the bank in the Philippines where she sends the money for his son, they can no longer return the money because it is already withdrawn and the account is already close.
This may serve as a warning for all OFW to secure personal information properly and be vigilant in transacting online.
The victim is said to be using her Yahoo account in her banking transaction
